The 2013 Port Townsend Cruise featured charity is Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a world-class cancer treatment center that unites doctors from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine and Seattle Children’s. Their goal, “every day, is to turn cancer patients into cancer survivors.” Their purpose “is to lead the world in the prevention and treatment of cancer.”
We are asking all participants to bring a MINIMUM of $10 per vehicle upon entry into Pacific Raceways, the START of the ACHTUNING sponsored PTC2013 event! For every $10 donation you will receive a raffle ticket which enters you into a drawing to win prizes from Achtuning. 100% of all monetary donations collected will go to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance! If you are unable to meet us at Pacific Raceways prior to the cruise to give us your donation, we ask that you mail Achtuning your check (made payable to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance) to be entered into the raffle. We’d like to take this opportunity and remind everyone that the Port Townsend Cruise is a charity event. Not a single penny goes into the organizers’ pockets, not even to cover the cost to put on the cruise! Such costs include but are not limited to facility rental, staffing, and insurance at Pacific Raceways in addition to event permits and insurance for the City of Port Townsend. As host to the Port Townsend Cruise, Achtuning covers 100% of these costs for the benefit of the entire Pacific Northwest European car enthusiast community.
Each year there are individuals, groups, or organizations that feel it is acceptable to promote their own business or product, using the efforts of the PTC organizing committee and funds put up by Achtuning to their beneift. This tactic of poaching off our event is something we now call “cruise crapping” and is not acceptable. Know that we have no reservations in calling out those who choose to take advantage of this charity event.
We understand the need to promote one’s business. For the first time, we are open to offering “vendor sponsorship” opportunities for anyone who would like to promote their product or business on this cruise. For a minimum fee (which will go completely to the featured charity) we will allow you to set up a booth at Pacific Raceways prior to the cruise. However no further business promotion or product sales can occur outside of Pacific Raceways or within the City of Port Townsend. Your 2012 Port Townsend Cruise donations were just picked up! According to Northwest Harvest, ”The pick-up today brought in 2,821 pounds of food. That is enough food to provide 2,170 meals to hungry people in Washington.” So awesome!!

Achtuning is making preparations for this weekend’s 2012 Port Townsend Cruise! Despite the soggy weather, a good number of PacNW European car enthusiasts have committed to come out for a great cause! Participants will meet at Pacific Raceways on Saturday, March 31st around 9am before leaving for Port Townsend at 10:30.
Just in time for PTC2012, Achtuning’s got their new box van all wrapped up so you can easily find where to drop off that Northwest Harvest donation! They will first set-up at Pacific Raceways then roll out to Port Townsend and set up in Memorial Field to collect more donations.
We’re expecting to have these filled up this Saturday!! Gotta at least beat last year’s numbers – 2500 lbs. of food and $320 collected!
